Before mass production of general products, plastic parts will be produced in small batches in advance to test product performance and market demand. If it is a small batch production, the process is to choose the silicone molding vacuum casting, because this process is suitable for one-time molding of complex structure workpieces, effectively shortening the development time and saving research and development costs. Compared with 3D printing, the plastic parts made by the vacuum casting are more durable.
What is vacuum casting?
First, need to use CNC or 3D printing to process a set of prototypes according to the drawings, then mold the prototypes with silica gel, take out the prototypes, and then inject the composite mold material. Commonly used materials are ABS，PC，transparent acrylic，PP，TPU,etc. One set of silicone mold can replicate 10-15 sets of products.
